So we're getting back into the swing of things this year and my pregnancy diary has been seriously neglected, so I'm trying to catch up while not-so-littlest is still asleep. Well, littlest is also becoming not so little and now weighs about 150g, a little more than half a block of margarine, and is about 12.5 to 14cm long. Knowing our genes, we're probably looking at something closer to the 14cm mark!
|The toddler's birthday cake: Two red jelly-babies tanning in the sun; some little jelly babies playing hoops; one wrapped in a towel; others lounging on deck chairs and one or two in the water...|
Well, the toddler's birthday was pretty cool. I quite enjoyed all the planning and organizing, but was a little disappointed when only half of the people we had catered for actually came. Each family that didn't come did have valid reasons for not making it in the end, but I was still a bit bummed. Those who were there seemed to really enjoy themselves, and the birthday girl didn't once play the 'It's-my-party-and-I'll-cry-if-I-want-to' card. On the contrary she seemed to have an absolute ball!
My personal favourite was the ice-cream cake, made by moi. I managed to make a ring mould with a cake tin and a terracotta pot in a plastic bag, so we had an ice cream ring cake, with a central well filled with blue jelly, with regular and mini-size jelly babies tanning and doing pool-party type things around the side, protected from the sun by cocktail umbrellas.
I even got to see a couple of kicks from the outside!
The toddler has hijacked the pregnancy diary again! So on a different note, littlest one has been moving lots, and did I mention I really love this stage of pregnancy? I even got to see a couple of kicks from the outside! At least I think they were kicks, unless we have a little boxer in the making. They're usually on the left, and we have little nudges on the right too. Even Dad finally got kicked a couple of times! The toddler doesn't have the patience to sit still so she can feel a real high-five yet...
I'm starting to get some of the cleavage they've been promising me.
Also, and apologies if this is a little too much information for some, but this is a pregnancy diary after all. I'm starting to get some of the cleavage they've been promising me. Finally! I'm usually an AA, and the most I get to during pregnancy and the first few months of breastfeeding is a B, so that gives you some idea of the anticipation! That being said, I'm not too stressed when things go back to normal, it's just that I have square shoulders so my shirts generally fit better just after pregnancy than they do before, especially around the bust.
...as soon as your belly sticks out past your nipples, it's public domain...
With my last pregnancy I noticed that as soon as your belly sticks out past your nipples, it's public domain and people seem to think they can pat your belly at will. Obviously it doesn't take much for me to reach that point, but then I'm not too stressed about people touching my belly.
Anyway, enough for this week! Week 19 of my pregnancy diary will be up super soon!
